"Adelans Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director President: Yoshihiro Tsumura), a global player in the hair, beauty, and wellness industry, has collaborated in the production of the exhibition at the 'Super Kinnikuman Exhibition' (Osaka venue), commemorating the 40th anniversary of the anime broadcast, taking place from September 16th (Saturday) to October 15th (Sunday) at the Osaka University of Arts Sky Campus (Abeno Harukas 24th Floor) in Osaka. Our company's cultural and entertainment division, 'Studio AD,' has faithfully recreated the 'hair' of the popular character 'Nakano-san from Adelans' from 'Kinnikuman' using human and synthetic hair for the exhibition."

The "Super Kinnikuman Exhibition," commemorating the 40th anniversary of the anime's broadcast, has been a highly anticipated event that started in Tokyo and has since toured cities such as Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sendai, gaining immense popularity in each location. (It's currently ongoing until this Sunday, September 10th, on the 8th floor of Sendai Forus.)
For the exhibition of the "Super Kinnikuman Exhibition," Toei Co., Ltd., responsible for planning and production, approached us to see if we could recreate the hair of "Nakano-san from Adelans." In response, our cultural and entertainment division, "Studio AD," decided to collaborate on this project. We aimed to reproduce the hair quality, color, and hairstyle from the anime's era, striving for a high level of realism. This "hair" exhibit has been displayed at various venues, and it has received significant attention and positive feedback from "Kinnikuman" fans. We will also feature the same exhibit at the Osaka venue, the hometown of the original author, Yudetamago Sensei.
"Kinnikuman" (created by Yudetamago) began its serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) in 1979 and continues to be a popular comic, with ongoing serializations in the paper version of "Weekly Playboy" and the web version of "Weekly Pre-NEWS," both published by Shueisha. The story revolves around superhumans who protect the Earth's peace, nurturing friendships with their fellow warriors while battling formidable foes in the wrestling ring. "Nakano-san from Adelans" is a beloved character who plays roles like a commentator in Kinnikuman matches and is modeled after Nakano Kazuo, the original editor for "Kinnikuman."

**Message from Toei Co., Ltd.**
From the planning stages of this exhibition, we pondered how we could somehow create the hair of "Mr. Nakano from Adelans." If it were possible to bring this idea to life, we strongly wished for Adelans to collaborate with us.
When it comes to creating hair, the first step is to establish the head circumference and shape. However, no one knows the actual size and shape of "Mr. Nakano from Adelans's" head. While it might have been easier to make assumptions, since we had the opportunity to work with Adelans, we wanted to create something with authenticity. Given that the character has a rather large head, we collaborated with Adelans to determine a head size and shape that could realistically exist, based on their historical data. We then verified this through multiple checks, including reference to anime footage, and created the initial model. We sought confirmation from the original creator, Yudetamago Sensei, multiple times, finalizing the mold for the head and measuring its size and shape.
Furthermore, we selected hair quality, color, and style that closely matched the colors used in the anime at the time. We also referred to Adelans' data to recreate the hairstyle, reflecting the popular styles of that era.
We hope that many people will have the opportunity to see the unique hair of "Mr. Nakano from Adelans" in the world, which is one-of-a-kind!

**Comment from Studio AD Personnel**
As this character is beloved by many fans, we considered it of utmost importance not to compromise on the image. Since there were many aspects that had to be created based on imagination, especially since it differs from the balance of a human head, we first focused on the size, roundness, and balance of the mannequin's head for the exhibition. We had numerous consultations with Toei while referencing the anime to ensure accuracy.
Because this character's ear position differs from that of a human, and their head is larger in proportion to their face, there were moments when even the factory personnel felt uncertain, wondering if the size was indeed correct. We had multiple exchanges and proceeded with production carefully.
For the hair, we used a mixture of human hair and synthetic hair to create a loose wave and capture the softness of Nakano-san's hair.
Regarding the finishing cut, typically, it's done on mannequins that are about 80% to scale and designed for styling purposes. However, due to the unique balance in this case, it was challenging, so we conducted the cut directly on the exhibition model from the beginning.
So, how do the fans feel about the final result?
