The Pokémon Company (Headquarters: Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshinobu Ishihara) will establish a joint venture company called "PokéPark Kanto, LLC" in collaboration with Yomiuri Land Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Inagi City, Tokyo; President: Takeru Mizoguchi) and The Yomiuri Shimbun Tokyo Headquarters Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Akitoshi Muraoka). This joint venture aims to conduct the entertainment business "PokéPark Kanto" on a portion of the Yomiuri Land premises.
Yomiuri Land is located in the Tama Hills, a region in Kanto known for its abundant nature. The setting of the first Pokémon video games, 'Pokémon Red and Green,' released in 1996, is the Kanto region.
The project's inaugural site, 'PokéPark Kanto,' derives its name from the initial region 'Kanto' and its geographical location. It aspires to bring together Pokémon fans from around the world in this nature-rich area, providing a space where they can experience Pokémon, transcending barriers of country, region, and language to enjoy together.
