A lively litter pick-up event with cosplayers was held in Yokohama!

The General Incorporated Association World Cosplay Culture Promotion Association (Chairperson: Tomoko Amano) will hold the 'Cosplay for a Zero Waste Ocean Campaign!! 2023 Autumn' on September 16, 2023 (Saturday) in Yokohama. With the support of the Nippon Foundation's 'Ocean and Japan Project,' the World Cosplay Culture Promotion Association aims to protect the 'Future of the Sea,' which serves as a photography spot for cosplayers, by raising awareness about marine litter issues with cosplayers who have a strong presence on social media. They are dedicated to promoting activities that expand the circle of efforts to address marine litter problems.

On the day of the event, various cosplayers will gather and participate in a collective litter-picking activity throughout the streets of Yokohama, making the city clean and beautiful! Afterward, you can freely take cosplay photos around Yokohama. Please join us for the unique 'Cosplay for a Zero Waste Ocean Campaign' event, a special part of the 'Zero Waste Ocean Week' kick-off! <Zero Waste Ocean Week Opening Ceremony>
As the kickoff event for the 'Autumn Zero Waste Ocean Week,' which will be held nationwide from September 16th (Saturday) to September 24th (Sunday), we will conduct an opening ceremony. Connecting the venue and several locations across the country online, we will raise the 'Sea Litter ZORO Declaration' as a declaration of the opening, symbolizing our commitment to a cleaner ocean.

<Litter-Picking in the Streets of Yokohama>
We will conduct a collective litter-picking activity with all participants, especially in areas with a high amount of litter. Let's all contribute to the 'Cosplay for a Zero Waste Ocean Campaign' together and make it a lively event!

<Highlight: Cosplay Photoshoot>
After the litter-picking activity, you can enjoy cosplay photoshoots in the streets of Yokohama. Last year, participants had the freedom to engage in cosplay photography at places like Yokohama Cosmo World, Yokohama Red Brick Park, and Harbor View Park!

<Join the litter-picking activity wearing items in the event's theme color 'blue'!>
Even a small touch is welcome! Let's all participate together by wearing 'blue' items, the theme color, for both litter-picking and cosplay photoshoots. On the event day, we will provide participants with a blue tote bag and drinking water as participation tokens. All the necessary equipment for litter-picking will also be provided on loan. We encourage you to join us with a sense of ease and be part of this event!
